Realistic about Abortions!

When the word abortions come into mind I think of many things. In South Africa abortion is legal, and it is a personal and private choice for anyone to go ahead with it.

At some communities when they hear that you had an abortion you will be judged or ill treated as if you are some bastard that does not deserve to live. Females who make such decisions should not feel obligated to explain themselves to anyone else as it is their democratic right to do so and their body that they need not be accountable to anyone but themselves.

My research has led me to many different views; fact is that women who do abortions are from all racial, ethnic, socioeconomic and religious backgrounds. When I brought the topic to my res mates I almost got bitten off because we all had different views and feelings about it. One lady stood up and said” women use abortions as the method of birth control, she won’t feel pity for anyone who has to go through it and it’s against her morals and beliefs”.

According to (Guttmacher Institute – 2003) some women are forced into having abortions by their partners, husbands or their parents because they do not believe in having a child out of wedlock and you could embarrass the family in the community, for others it’s pretty simple as to not liking the baby daddy, not ready to be a parent and could be raped and don’t want the child, and I strongly agree with the rape incident, who want to raise a rape child that will always remind you of the worse night of your life?

My views are neutral to the situation. We all have our reasons when engaging into something, I therefore say “Do what will make you happy and forget about what the next person is or will say to you”.
